I'm so excited that I can't even handle it.

I thought Goldenvoice had also promoted Brand New at this same venue a little over a year ago too. That's cool, I don't hear about a lot of bands playing in Hawaii. probably too expensive to do just the one show =o\

Oh, the Brand New thing is a distinct possibility. I'm not a big fan, so I didn't pay much attention to that show. Honolulu gets a lot of punk rock, but less frequently things like Vampire Weekend.

I think my excitement is helped by the fact that I live in Honolulu :) Mostly I am hoping that the Vampire Weekend show will sell out and Goldenvoice will be encouraged to bring more good up-and-coming and indie rock buzz bands to the islands. Even though Vampire Weekend's set was only meh at Coachella, I think for Honolulu it's pretty damn exciting. I'll definitely be there.

I thought IMA Robot played there not too long ago. Please post a review of the Vampire Weekend show when you go. I thought the Coachella performance was also bleh, but it could have been the fact that I could hear The Breeders more than I could VP.

We have been promoting shows in Hawaii for many many years. Here is a festival we did in '99 http://www.leahi.net/bigmele/

I even went to a few of our shows there.. the Breeders and RATM.

Oops. Sorry PF, sounds like I should be paying better attention. I didn't realize Goldenvoice promotes shows in Hawaii. I guess I didn't really pay much attention before I moved here.

But still, yay Vampire Weekend!

Does a Goldenvoice staff member get to come out for many of the shows? That sounds like a sweet deal.

most likely the production manager and booker to settle the show will go.
